Released in 2003, Hermigervill's debut album is a masterfully crafted mixture of obscure samples and beats, collaged microscopically from hundreds of dusty old records, with a little bit of synths sprinkled on top. Somehow, it all sounds very coherent and personal, and has obvious stylistic traits which can be heard on later Hermigervill recordings. Although only 19 years old during the time of release, Hermigervill had already sniffed out countless rare sample gems and drumbeats, many from very hard to find Icelandic one-off pressings. To top it off, the album featured an unmarked, secret bonus track called Yamaha Yoga, decidedly different from the rest of the album, and to this day one of Hermigervill's more popular tracks.

Lausnin was originally released as a very limited run of 110 copies under Hermigervill's own HG label, a spoof of the legendary Icelandic SG label, which released a lot of material in the 1960's and 70's. These copies have long since become cherished collectors' items. Word has it that not even Hermigervill himself has a copy.

Further physical release of the album was made inconceivable by the immense amount of uncleared samples, which posed a legal/financial nightmare situation for any label wanting to release or reprint this album. Therefore, it has been available only as a complete, free mp3 download from Hermigervill's website for years.
